About The Wise Woman
I created The Wise Woman because I know what it feels like when life suddenly becomes complicated and you're expected to know what to do.
Several years ago, my mother became seriously unwell and spent 90 days in hospital while we tried to work out what happened next. We found ourselves dealing with care homes, councils, NHS Continuing Healthcare assessments and endless paperwork, while I was also juggling life with a young child.
I wasn't an expert in any of it. I was simply a daughter trying to make the right decisions for her mum, and I quickly discovered how difficult it can be to find clear, practical information when you're already overwhelmed.
I'm also a private PA and EA by background, so researching, organising, asking questions and refusing to give up until I find an answer is very much in my nature. Those skills helped me enormously, but the experience made me realise how many women are trying to navigate the same situations without knowing where to begin.
That's why I created The Wise Woman: practical, straightforward help for women dealing with the things nobody really prepares us for in midlife. No jargon, no guru language and no pretending to have all the answers - just useful information to help you understand your options and work out what to do next.
A little more about me
Away from The Wise Woman, I've spent more than 30 years working as a PA and EA, including many years supporting private individuals and families. I'm also a wife and mother, and I know first-hand how quickly life can become a juggling act.
I hope The Wise Woman makes some of those difficult moments just a little easier to navigate.
